Democrats of the US should be grateful that for this election, choosing their Presidential nominee is turning out to be so exciting! Either way, history will be made in 2008 and I think the Democrats will take it all the way so it’s really a win-win situation. Right now, it’s just like watching a football game and both teams have been tied throughout the first 3 quarters and it’s now reaching the 4th quarter. Wowoweee!
So who would I vote for? Hillary all the way! As she said (I think), ‘it took a Clinton to clean-up after the first Bush and it’ll take another Clinton to clean-up after the second Bush’. Taking the serious issues aside for the purposes of this blog, how much pressure cool would that be for Chelsea?! Plus there’s the whole Bill factor…boy, have I missed good ‘ol Bill.
Anyway, I’ve always had an infatuation with women in power. Some of the female leaders whom I have been fortunate enough to have met can not only do what their men counterparts can do but much MORE because they are female. One specific example I have observed is that they can play with more emotions than what most male leaders are capable of.
To be a woman and to excel in the corporate world is not an easy thing to do. But for those who have successfully done so by gaining the respect of their colleagues and at the same time have managed their personal lives well enough to have the right ‘balance’…wow!
I’m not saying Hillary is one of these women. She is far from being my idol and I don’t think there’s anything that would make me want to trade places with her. However, if when she gets elected as the first female President of the United States of America, she will validate all the other women in similar positions. She will serve as an example to show that women are capable of being GOOD leaders.
This is one of the remaining glass ceilings that must be broken and I can’t wait for it to happen!

when to jump and make that big commitment?
A commitment that entails looking forward many, many years. So many in fact that thinking that far ahead and where I’ll be at that time scares me.
As much as I’ve wanted to, I’ve never really had a predictable life. I like going with-the-flow, being impulsive, and I’ve learned that there’s a lot of things in life that are uncontrollable. At this point, I can’t even plan a vacation a couple of months from now because I can’t imagine what life would be like by then.
But maybe now is the time to jump. Because, I know that if I don’t do this now, it’ll just get harder to do in the future.

…is having self-worth.
A friend reminded me about valuing one’s self. Sure, we were drinking at the time but he had a very good point. It’s about being happy with yourself and being happy with what you’re doing in life. As long as you’re being yourself, if you know you’re doing your best, if you love and appreciate yourself, no one should be able to convince you otherwise.
For me, once you learn to value your self-worth, you’ve succeeded in life. It’s as simple as that because everything else important will follow. But without it, you’re just a lost soul.
Anyone who dares to disagree with your self-worth is just not worth having. Period.

Not taking into consideration finances, logistics, talent, and all that crap stuff, here are some things that I would like to be:
what do you want to be? ![]()

This is a game called ‘three truths and a lie’. It is usually used as an ice-breaker used for a group of people to get-to-know each other. So here goes…I’ve listed four things below. Three are true and one is a lie. Can you figure out which one is the lie?
I didn’t even know the name of the guy behind me…all I know is that he’s from the Philippines team of the Amazing Race Asia (season 2) show and I got all giddy and ‘kilig’ when I realized that he was sitting behind me at Starbucks.
To top it all off, he was joined at his table by Leo! Yiheeeeeeeeeeeee!

We went to Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay) where there were plenty of people, plenty of spices, plenty of traffic, plenty of birds, plenty of scams, plenty of dogs, and plenty of things to buy! Too bad I didn’t have plenty of TIME.
The food was great! Don’t ask me what the dishes were called (because I don’t remember) but most of them definitely tingled the taste buds. Yum!
The women wore beautifully colored sarees and it made me so envious that I ended up buying one on the first day! I just wish I’ll have an opportunity to wear it sometime soon.
Since we were only there for a few days and worked most of the time, this is a place that I would love to come back to. For the shopping and to be able to explore the other parts of the country that we didn’t get to see…especially to see the Taj Mahal.
Anyway, it was really great to be able to see another glimpse of how people in other places LIVE. It is always wonderful to be able to be a part of another world, even if it were only for a few days and to realize that the world we live in is HUGE.

it’s still early in January so I guess a blog about new year’s resolutions is still applicable.
well…that is if I had any to share. :p
I’m really excited about 2008. I have a good feeling about this year (and yes, this is me trying to get positivism to work). I have a lot of new year’s resolutions that I would like to change/improve on about myself and in general, do better this year…but when I try to list it down, it’s hard to do.
But, I’m not worried. I think just the fact that I have a conscious effort to have a better year and be a better person is already half the battle! The rest of the battle is just to keep remembering the goal for improvements and continue to WANT to be a better person.
Happy 2008 everybody! It’s going to be gr8t!

…again.
For the 3rd time in a span of only a few months, I got ‘caught’ again by the police. This time by the Pasay Police. Allegedly, this time, I made an illegal right turn off of Diosdado Macapagal Ave.
I tried to use my ‘pagka babae’ and pleaded with him to not take my license away. He promised not to but he strongly hinted that he should get something in return since it’s still the christmas season. Haaaaaay! (i was with two friends at the time and i tried hard but my pride wouldn’t let the tears flow)
Anyway, right after we ’settled’ that incident, after we got about a kilometer or two away, out of nowhere and with no warning, my car just…STOPPED.
A couple of kind strangers helped us push it to the side but then I had to hire some pedicab drivers to push it all the way home. Good thing we were only a few blocks away. whew.
I don’t know if it was because of the full moon or what but I think the stars and the moons were somehow aligning to say that I should just stay at home.
The odd thing is that when I got home, I wasn’t too bothered by everything that happened. It just felt like a NORMAL day in my life. hahaha! I just hope this isn’t a sign of what’s in store for me in 2008!
